The Varona Metal Mechanical Company, located in the municipality of San Miguel del Padrón, has been awarded the 500th Anniversary Seal of Havana

Entering the Varona Metal Mechanical Company is accessing a center where the word of order is work. There each person is very clear about the task that they have to fulfill, and above all, the importance of their work for import substitution, the development of the country and social welfare.

This April 10, that important establishment belonging to the Business Group of the Mechanical Side Industry (GESIME) celebrated 41 years of existence and did so with the good news of being a creditor of the 500th Anniversary Seal of Havana, which will be delivered soon.
Among the tasks assumed by them are the production of various implements for the sugar harvest, the feed industry and water purification plants, which allow import substitution.

Throughout the country there are several mini-industries capable of processing up to 100 kilograms per hour that have been manufactured by Varona, although in these moments they are undergoing a technological improvement that will allow the manufacture of others with a capacity of 1000 kilograms, which in addition to Being much more efficient, they also improve the quality of the finished product. And all this with more than 70 percent of national components. As if that were not enough, the company is immersed in an investment process, which they assume without stopping production, as occurs in the Stainless Steel Pailery Workshop, located in the municipality of San Miguel del Padrón, where they will be installed three new equipment.
Equally varied are the works that they carry out in greeting to Havana's 500th birthday, such as the already repaired Pyonyang Fountain in Eastern Havana; the restaurants La Giraldilla de Santa Fé, La Ceiba and la Ruina, (in the Lenin Park), the Yang Tse, the La Verbena shopping complexes, and the one located in the Monterrey Marketing Area (new Cuevita location).

In addition, they are preparing the 72 Totems that will be put on Calle Línea; the eight metal monoliths of the Paseo del Prado; supporting the construction of the metal fences destined for the four entrances that the city has. Specifically at the Pyonyang Fountain, in Eastern Havana, a site that was recently reopened with the presence of the Vice President of the Council of Ministers, Ricardo Cabrisas Ruiz, and Luis Antonio Torres Iríbar, first secretary of the Provincial Party Committee in the capital, there, says Yanet Barceló Pelegrín, director of Research and Development of Varona, began with a discreet participation and little by little, they added objects of work.

“If there is something that characterizes this company,” says Barceló Pelegrín, “it is that it is always in constant development, we never say no to new projects, designs and assemblies that are proposed to us. We are now working in plants for the production of packaging, in a pineapple processing plant, capable of processing eight tons per hour of juices, nectars and sweets in syrup. We are also working in slaughterhouses for poultry, cattle, pigs. ”
"In these places we work from the delivery of the technical project by the client -although at times we help them with the elaboration of the technical task-, and from there the design and development is carried out, to the assembly and delivery of key on hand. We are also involved in several projects for charcoal and cassava beneficiation plants, in addition to having several international agreements. ”

Much more could be said about this company, capable of manufacturing tanks for hookahs, alcohol, and spare parts for bazookas that are used in Public Health for the campaign against the mosquito. However, it is enough to say the words, consecration, dedication and work, to define that group, deserving of the 500th Anniversary Seal of Havana.
