The Company Producing Buses Evelio Prieto Guillama, in Guanajay, delivered 20 PAZ buses, of Russian technology, to the province of Granma, of the 24 agreed with the eastern territory, headquarters of the central activities for July 26.

Anabelis Rodríguez Carcache, director of business and technical assistance for the Company, said that in June they produced 40 PAZ buses, 20 destined for Havana and the rest for Granma, which will receive the remaining four at the end of production planned for July.
Rodríguez Carcache explained that the assembly of the equipment began in May with the inauguration of the line and there is a plan for 250 buses for 2019, for which it was necessary to make changes in the technological process as it was designed for the production of buses. from the Diana brand.
She said that they receive the semi-disarmed bus, it has 25 seats and capacity for 43 people, it has two doors that allow the adequate flow of passengers and an anti-slip aluminum floor.
He added that, as in the Diana buses, they plan to gradually incorporate elements of national integration in the process, in this case the tubes that form the subsets, which are received armed from Russia and used in the roof, lateral and floor.
In this regard, she commented that we have a cutting and shaping workshop that can assume the production of the subsets from tubes manufactured in Cuba.
José Luis Toledo Álvarez, general director of the Evelio Prieto Guillama Bus Production Company, highlighted that the transformation of the assembly line allowed the acquisition of modern welding equipment, paint booths and artificial rain to check the tightness of vehicles, as well as a plant to evaluate the brake systems.
He added that the PAZ bus, unlike the Diana, is assembled without the engine, a technology widely used in the world that allows the factory to assume the production of buses with this specificity.
With two years of work at the Evelio Prieto Guillama, Jorge Luis Puente Rodríguez recognized that the workers had to adapt to a more complex car, and they have not hesitated to contribute overtime and work on Saturdays to finish the buses, as they are aware of how They are necessary to alleviate the complex situation of passenger transport on the island.
