The Business Group of the Sidero Mechanical Industry, GESIME, is the rector of the careers of Mechanical, Electrical and Metallurgical Engineering of the Technological University of Havana "José Antonio Echeverría" (UTH).

So this September 5, a representation of the OSDE joined the act of welcoming first-year students from the UTH Faculty of Mechanical Engineering to welcome students, present the organization, as well as the activities and projects to be carried out jointly during the course of the degree as part of the monitoring of the vocational training and career guidance process.

The meeting was chaired by Mario Martínez López, Dean of the UTH Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and by the OSDE with the participation of Vice President Jorge Luis Suárez Rodríguez, and specialists from the Training and Development areas.

The welcome letter from the OSDE GESIME President was delivered and read, expressing his confidence that with effort and adequate study habits they will become the good engineers who will be part of our business system and who will ensure the continuity of the Revolution.

Vice President Jorge Luis Suárez made a presentation on OSDE GESIME, its background and historical development, the industrial branches it serves, its main productions, investments and achievements, as well as its importance for the development of the country, taking into account the productive chain with other branches of the economy and their contribution to import substitution.

The audiovisual on the group's development strategy for the year 2030 was presented and promotional articles on GESIME were provided.

Tours of companies, competitions, scientific conferences, research and development projects, among other activities, will include the theory-practice relationship for the preparation of future engineers in close connection with GESIME, Sandra Guerra Castillo, Principal Specialist of GESIME Training
The routes to be carried out in the group companies were reported: second year from September 30 to October 13, first year from November 4 to 16 and fifth year from November 18 to 24.

Finally, it was exchanged with the faculty faculty, who appreciated the intervention and dedication of GESIME in pursuit of the development of the faculty and its students.
