GESIME: Young people and “With the sights on the future”.

The Business Group of the Iron and Steel Industry (GESIME) will reach its seventh anniversary this December 7.

GESIME was established in 2012 as part of the reorganization of the Cuban economy, at which time its predecessor Ministry of the Iron and Steel Industry would become a business group and would be served by the new Ministry of Industries.
Since its inception it has remained an organization focused on import substitution processes and support for the development of other industries and strategic sectors, such as: the sugar industry, transportation, agri-food, construction, among others. Based on this, GESIME promotes the development of increasingly competitive productions and services for the national and international market.

GESIME maintains its mission to consolidate its leadership in the steel and metalworking sectors in Cuba, favoring the production chain and the boost of the Cuban economy. For this, it is essential to take full advantage of the available productive capacities, the projection of investments and increase their participation in the Mariel Special Development Zone.

The vision for the future points to the growth of productions with high added value, always counting on the commitment and high qualification of its workers, who support and promote continuous development, specialization and industrial culture. Likewise, continuing to certify the quality of products and services, perfecting market studies and better analysis of distribution channels will remain constant issues on the GESIME work agenda, where it will always be “With a Look at the future".
Congratulations!
