The Cuban-Russian joint venture TecComp Caribe S.A. It was presented this Tuesday, November 5 at Fihav 2019.
This was established in September of this year between United Composite Technologies and the Cuban Mercantile Society Simen Aut S.A. The corporate purpose of the new entity is the production and marketing of bars and meshes of composite fiberglass polymer material for construction, new products that will be introduced to the Cuban market and that will be accompanied by technical assistance services for the preparation of projects and works in progress, which may be contracted by both investors and contractors together with the supply package.

The Deputy Director, Guillermo Almeida Sánchez, said that training will also be provided to Cuban project companies on how to design from this new material, this action will be carried out in coordination with the Ministry of Construction and the Technological University of Havana.

The company presents a collaboration contract with this university, which also includes the preparation of Civil Engineering students on working with bars and meshes of composite material during their study programs and work practices.

According to the investment schedule, it will be completed in September 2020, so between October and December the production of this material will begin with the start-up of the machinery at the company's facilities. However, according to Guillermo Almeida, the entity has requested from the Mariel Special Development Zone and the Cuban authorities a temporary location for two or three production lines that can be used by customers in the course of executing the investment, so that they can become familiar with this material at work for later demand by 2021.
