The process of technological reconversion of the Mechanical Company Fabric Aguilar Noriega of Santa Clara is already a reality, with the start-up of state-of-the-art equipment that is added to the numerically controlled machine tools already existing in the so-called factory factory.
Raquel Rivera Rodríguez, deputy director of that industry, informed Vanguardia that this is the first phase of the assembly of equipment for the development of the hydropower line, in order to recover parts and pieces of hydraulic turbines for the modernization of hydroelectric plants, and other prioritized programs.
She said that this equipment, in addition to humanizing the work, reduces the manufacturing time of metal components and increases the quality of the finish. Meanwhile, the second stage of that investment is scheduled for the first quarter of next year.
For its part, the Smelting and Thermal Treatment Workshop is another of the areas to be modernized —currently in the foundation stage—, which will be equipped with state-of-the-art equipment that will bring considerable electricity savings and streamline the production process.
Referring to compliance with the Mechanical Plant production plan so far this year, Rivera Rodríguez said that sales are at 127%.
She specified that they fulfill the main commitments contracted with Azcuba for the maintenance of sugar plants that will intervene in the sale of the dispute; especially, those linked to the Ciro Redondo de Ciego de Ávila mill, where a bioelectric plant is erected.
Other assignments are for Antillana de Acero, the Electrochemical Company of Sagua la Grande, and the Tannery Patricio Lumumba de Caibarién. The latter, undergoing a rehabilitation process.
